Every year, I run a United States national park workshop for a fourth-grade class at a local elementary school. The students spend the year learning about the national parks, partly through the badges I designed. I visit their class to talk about graphic design and walk them through how I created the badge series. Then, they complete a worksheet where they imagine their own national park and design a matching badge. Afterward, I digitally recreate each student’s badge so it fits seamlessly into the full collection..
